but maybe if they did it right with the coming of age of the internet we could have a true democracy.and put all those elected officials back on street cleaner duty
But do you really want true democracy? The internet is certainly helping us hold our Political Elite to account, as UK MPs have found to their cost recently. Some properly accountable and honourable representatives would be a good start, but we need to exercise our power of holding them to account.
No! Speaking only for myself, I do not want a true democracy. It would be like the Democrat Party in the United States. I think Will Rogers put it best. An 'organized mob.'
there is alot more conservative thinkers in this country then liberals, they justget bombarded by the vocal minority and politicions that betray them a pure dem. set up in the right way could work very well

The EU is a government of bureaucrats, by bureaucrats for bureaucrats. Monnet's dream, stemming from the 1920s, was for a supranational government of the future, run by technocrats without all the constraints of democracy and nationalism. Monnet introduced initiatives little bit by little bit until they became a fait acomplis, so slowly, the supranational EU government has taken almost all power from national governments, but few seem to either notice or care.
